“We hired Stoneridge Builders for our kitchen remodel and could not have been more pleased. As an individual suffering from "habitual home remodeling disorder" I have had the opportunity to work with many in the construction industry, and I can say that Scott stands out far above the rest. “Dear Stoneridge Builders, I am writing to you to give you a letter of recommendation for Scott Skiermanski and Stoneridge Builders. Scott and his team built our current home in 2006/2007, which started with some general ideas and a specific budget. From there Scott was able to put together an exceptional team of professionals starting with the architect all the way through to the landscaper and everyone in between. Each person on the project was a pleasure to work with. They listened to what my wife and I wanted, offered numerous creative ideas, which greatly enhanced the final results, and all the while being very conscientious about the budget. To this day I am still amazed at how well the entire process went and how well the house was built. In addition to the process and the final results, we are especially pleased with the high quality and energy efficient materials Stoneridge Builders used during the construction of the home. Whenever applicable Scott would encourage using energy efficient materials such as the insulation, siding, and mechanicals. We found him to be extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic on the subject matter, which matched well with what we were looking to do overall. Overall, the results have been so good that the EPA has awarded the house it's highest rating for energy efficiency, and in 2008 the home won the Gold Key Award from the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago for outstanding design. If we ever build another home, we will definitely want to work with Stoneridge Builders and their team that built our current home.”

“To Stoneridge Builders: In June 2008 I purchased a house situated on the Fox River in Algonquin. The house needed extensive remodeling as it was built in the 40.s. I consulted my daughter, as she had contact with contractors she used to work with, who might be suitable for the job involved. She recommended two whom she thought were highly capable and dealt with in the past. One of the contractors was Scott. Upon meeting with him I was drawn to his no nonsense attitude, his openness about cost overuns, his ideas, etc. He quoted the job with everything itemized in an easy to understand way. Needless to say, I was quite impressed, and asked him to take the job. Throughout the process Scott was always available to answer any questions I had and always made me feel at ease. He was on the site most of the time to see that things went right. He also helped me to make the right decisions as those came up constantly. The people he employed were all knowledgeable and did excellent work. His carpenter Nate is a craftsman of the old school and takes pride in his work. Scott came in below cost, except for the extras I wanted, which, of course, were not included in the original quote. The job took somewhat longer than anticipated. That was due to some unforseen problems with the house, also my inability to make quick decisions. Scott is a very hands on builder. No harsh words were ever exchanged, and any differences were always resolved in a mutually agreeable fashion. The house is absolutely beautiful. If I ever build another house again I hope that Scott will be available to do it.”

“To whom it may concern, This letter serves to recommend Mr. Scott Skiermanski who is President of Stoneridge Builders, Inc. We have hired Scott and his subcontractors along with his preferred vendors for two renovation projects. The first time was to repair and renovate a leaky master bathroom in a previous house. That project turned out so well that when we sold that house a year later we contacted Scott to work on the new house too. Scott remodeled the kitchen, the master and foyer bathrooms and we put in wood flooring throughout. This project was again very successful and we have received so many compliments on the work and the design. One of the aspects that we enjoyed about Scott’s work is that he listens to your wants and needs, offers a few constructive critiques, and then develops a plan forward. He has good ideas for your project; such as, putting a microwave in a drawer. It works well and looks great. Scott’s work is so detailed and careful. He oversees, manages, and directs his crews at least once a day. The crews were skilled and wonderful to work with. He gave us the contact information to suppliers for the plumbing fixtures, the kitchen appliances, the tile suppliers, etc. Most of the above is to be expected of a good quality building contractor. But Scott also provides other information; periodically, he sent us a spreadsheet that identified the initial project estimated cost, the cost of the project additions and/or deletions, and the actual costs as they materialized.
